Programmer question

Programmer question

2007-01-06 by ringmod45

Hi Ken,

This module looks very interesting. Having worked with a Serge
programmer before, I really appreciate this new design of yours.

Is there an advance input to cycle the programmer from stage to
stage in a forward or reverse direction( not a b c d pots per stage
up and down)?

I am unclear with this. Also, the mini sequence thing of chaining a
last step output pulse to first step pulse input, by having several
these connected together in a programmer, am i right to assume that
by pressing a programmer stage momentary switch that the programmer
will in effect play the grouped stages together?

if you have stage 123 tied together, stage 456 tied together and
stage 78 tied together and pressing stage 1. will it cycle 123123123
etc and pressing stage 4 will it cycle 456456456456 and pressing
stage 7 will it cycle 78787878 and so on, like the Buchla Model 246
sequencer?

The buchla didn't have momentary switches but it could trigger these
mini sequences from the stage addressing input via the touch plates
from a 217 touch keyboard.

I am hoping this is the case with your programmer, I have been
waiting have these functions forever and would have to pay upwards
of 6K for a 246, if one ever came up for sale.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
RM

Up and down are for forward and backwards movement through the stages. THe
ABCD pots are all selected at once per row, just like in the serge original.

Only one stage will ever activate at a time (in theory anyway). If you have
two groups of say 3 stages wired as micro sequences, pushing a button on one
of the grouped stages will cause the module to go to and remain in that 3
stage micro sequence until such time as button is pressed (or external pulse
injected) for a different stage.

Exactly.

Hi Ken,

Thank you very much for answering my questions and Kudos on a great
design.

I will ordering a set boards very soon.

RM
