Wave multiplier

2003-01-22 by mdottori2002 <mdottori2002@yahoo.com>

Hi Ken,

I have not been able to find the LM3080 for the Wave Multiplier here. Do you think a CA3080 would do the job?

A different question. To what extent do you think using 22 ohms resistors in the place of the ferrite beads (which I would have to buy from abroad I think! The smallest ferrite toroids I could find are about 1/2 inch of external diameter, and 8 mm internal; way too big for the use I guess). If the beads really make any real difference I will order them, otherwise...)

Than you for your circuits. I am having a lot of fun soldering.

Yours

Mauricio

Hi Mauricio,
LM3080 and CA3080 are exactly the same IC. I got lots of ferrite beads by
ripping them from old motherboards/video boards. I have some broken video
boards that have up to 6 ferrite beads, more or less the size of a 1/4w
resistor.

All my best,
Luis Marka

As you have already been answered, yes, it's the same device.

22R will work fine. It goes about doing the job a different way, which in
some cases is even more effective than the ferite bead.
