WTB: Master Divider PCB

WTB: Master Divider PCB

2007-05-02 by Andrew

Anyone have a spare "Master Divider" (CGS22) PCB they don't want? Due
to lack of interest, they aren't available anymore. Being the oddball
that I am, I want one :)

thanks,
Drew

Drew,

Never got to buy this pcb and noticed the out of stock label on Kens site.

Did the "aren't available anymore" come from Ken?

I was thinking of a building a couple of these myself. If Ken needed an order for the
minimum of 3 (as he has for blue special order boards) I'd grab two of them if you'll take
the third. Seems really handy to have the phase offset for the divide down timing clock
signals.

"Aren't available at the moment pending a decision." is closer to the mark.
I've only ever sold about 20, so that's a lot of money to tie up in stock
that doesn't move, so I have yet to decide whether to kill it or give it
another go. One thing I was thinking of doing was shortening the number of
stages, and providing all with the four phases out. For longer division
sequences, it would be a simple matter to use two in series.

This of course means I need to make time to do so. It won't be for this run
of PCBs whatever the case, as it is already full of higher priority boards.

Ken

I will pipe up here, the Master Divider was one of the last things I built from Ken (and yes I bought the pcb), I was a little intimidated by the module at first which is why I held off ordering it for some time, just confused about the whole module (those damn rotaries and different phases, I was a newbie haha excuses).

Now I will never part with it, it should be in anyone's home who loves the Burst Gen, Pulse Divider, Gate Comp, Seq Switch etc...

Throw in a clock and get multiple pulse divisions out in different phases.. I love this module.

And with VC Switching, you can switch between filter responses, delays,
LFOs, add X to every other note, whatever. In a redesign with four
phases.... add glide and get some crossfade action going!

Glad to see all the interest in the Master Divider. Whether a batch
of the old design gets made, or a redesign happens someday, I will
take at least two for sure :)

This would be an incredible module! Have you given this redesign any
more thought?

It has been redesigned, and the first ones will be run as soon as I finish a
few updates to other boards I need to get made. Within the month is the target.

For those of us who have the Master Divider are the changes to this new version going to make us want it as well (not that I don't buy basically all yoru projects anyways)...

Beats me!
The two rotary switches are gone. Instead all phases are present on all
outputs. However ... there aren't as many stages, so you may want to cascade.

Wow, the master divider is going to be even better? And no rotary
switches to wire? Brilliant!
