perfectly fine.

>2.) What Trimmers are recommended ? 1Turn or precision ones ?

1 turn are okay. If 25 turn are needed, the parts list will say so.

Where do you buy your matched transistors?

2007-05-03 by Tim J

Hi List....

So, I'm planning on building some CGS VCOs and I'm curious where everyone
buys their matched NPNs? Futurlec seems to have the lm394s for a couple US
dollars. Otherwise I could go through Analog Devices directly. Anyone have
an other sugestions?

Thanks

Thanks Louis!
And I'd recommend the 2210 over the 394 for greater range. And it's
cheaper :)

Futurlec is a source of LM394's and they are much cheaper then
SSM2210's. Check them out at
http://www.futurlec.com/cgi-bin/search/search.cgi
Search for LM394. $1.80US quantity 1.
There are a number of 'smaller' distributors that sell parts us CGS
users are looking for that the 'bigger' distributors don't have. I'll
post a list of places to search either today or tomorrow for those
that may not have seen all of them, and maybe others can add any I'm
missing so I can expand my list of options.

Yes, and for a reason. SSM2210's are better.

Also note that Futurlec sells the cheap DIP version (not the better
matched metal cans) and they are NOS (the ones I got are almost
20 years old).

The SSM2210 does make a better tracking VCO. But it's your
choice ;-)

My 394s are cans, if it matters :)
