Utility LFO Waveforms

Utility LFO Waveforms

2008-07-10 by Craig Lee

I see Ken has utility LFO boards again. I'm thinking of putting one
together.

I'm a little confused as to what the waveshapes it puts out actually
are. Will the variable out go to full square? Seems like it should.
What is the difference between the square and the pulse wave? Just
the pulse width?

I need to squeeze it into a small space on my Serge panel, so dropping
"redundant" outputs would help save space.

It does.

Square is fixed at 50/50, while the other varies from around 5/95 to 95/5
(i.e. including 50/50).

Whatever you decide, leave place for the range switches.

I stated with an on-off-on toggle switch, but now I have a 6 position
switch. I haven't measured the frequencies yet, but it goes from audio to
very very slow.

Didn't like it in the beginning, using it all the time now.

Cheers,

ToAd

Good idea. How are you doing range. Are you switching in different caps?

I need to wedge it into one space (1") so I only get 8 pot/jack
positions. My idea was for the top LFO to do Variable out, Vari pot,
Shape pot, Frequency pot. Then for the bottom LFO: Pulse out, Saw/Tri
out, Shape Pot, Fequency. I'll use the Pulse insted of Square so the
waves stay in phase as the Saw/Trai shape is changed. This way I'll
get most of the designs functions, just not all in one LFO. I'll get
all the shapes, just one at a time on the top, and 2 shapes at once on the
bottom LFO.

Make sense?

Range is a good idea. Maybe I could do a pull switch on the Freq. pot.

I never saw this answered or explained - I'm building this soon and am curious about adding a range switch.

Thanks.

Never mind - dug far enough back and found my answer :)

CGS64 VCA CV question.

2009-12-25 by Dave Kendall

Hi all.

An easy one hopefully.........

The input CV is specified as 0 - 5V. If I wanted to change it to 0 -
10V, would the 47K resistor between pins 1 and 2 of the CV summing
opamp be the one to change?
Would any other components need to be changed if this is done?

cheers,
Dave

Dave,

Ding! Yup that's the one, with the 47pf cap across it. I doubt anything else needs to change.

Thanks Doug!

Will maybe finish the build later today....... :-)
