CGS41 Diatonic Converter Trimpots

CGS41 Diatonic Converter Trimpots

2012-01-25 by Stephen Richards

Hi Ken

I finished the BOG and MARSH pcb's last night. The fingernail method for SMD's worked great (if you work fast...)

I only really have one more question at present , your patience over the past few days is much appreciated.

Just wondering if it's possible to use Cermet 25 turn trimpots in the Diatonic Converter and if so
which way would they be orientated if i was using the Adjusting Screw as a point of focus for orientating the trimpot ?

You could, if you realy wanted, but you will drive yourself nuts with the
number of times you need to turn the screw to make a change.
If they are the sort with the leads in a straight row, it doesn't matter
which way they are oriented. Mount them so they are the easiest to adjust.
The other sort with staggered legs will only go in one way.

Cheers Ken

Already done , i thought it would be better after reading the notes so went ahead and did it ; now preparing to be driven nuts.

I installed them with the middle leg bent forward to be in a 'y' as the one on the right in the picture here :

They are in the pcb horizontally with the screw to the left , bent middle leg upwards as per pcb outline for the single turn trimmer ,
(if that makes sense).
