Styrenes in the CGS202 - Serge Resonant Equaliser

Styrenes in the CGS202 - Serge Resonant Equaliser

2012-04-30 by Stephen Richards

Hi Ken

I just wanted to ask about Styrenes in the CGS202.

I have used Styrenes for the 220pF (x 4) , 680pF (x 2) , 1nF (x2) , 2n2 (x 2) and 4n7 (x 4).

As visible in the picture on the build page.

Would Styrenes be an improvement sonically in the 10n , 22n and 47n positions (as seen in the photo with the dull yellow caps) ?

Seriously, I doubt your ear would pick up the difference, assuming there was
any difference. I've not gone over the design with distortion analysers etc,
so I can't give a definitive yes/no answer.

Fair enough. Thanks Ken.
