Active Real Ring Modulator question

Active Real Ring Modulator question

2013-10-22 by Richard Brewster

The unbalance pot is between ground and +VE on the schematic. But in setting up the directions say, "Disconnect the wiper of the unbalance pot, if fitted, or use a meter to set the voltage on it to zero." This wouldn't be necessary if you could just turn it to the ground side. So I think the pot should be connected to -VE, not ground. Ken?

Thanks,

Richard Brewster

I don't think connecting to to -VE would give any real benefit. If anything
it would make it harder to get it to run balanced. The derp is most likely
in the setup description.

Thanks, Ken. Suppose I patched a positive-only signal to the DC
carrier input. Would there be any benefit to connecting Unbalance
between ground and -VE (instead of to +VE)?
