Burst Generator - Pulse Length pot Mod

Burst Generator - Pulse Length pot Mod

2016-02-26 by trimix83

Would like to try to implement the modification listed in the NOTES section of the assembly directions, but can't make sense of the schematics. I understand what it's trying to do, but the details are not clear.
Has anyone done this? Can I find a sketch of what was done and where? Even a scan of the schematics with changes drawn with a crayon would help.

DPDT switch - huh? What's the second set of poles for?
"a second capacitor <what size?> could be added across the 10n capacitor <which one? where?> when the lower range is selected...The adventurous could increase the capacitor <now which one?> to 100n, drop the resistor to 10k <which one?> and put a 100k pot in series with it."

Well, yeah. Makes sense, but need a bit more detail please. just a sketch. a photo. Something that says "put this HERE and connect it HERE.

Any help is appreciated

>DPDT switch - huh? What's the second set of poles for?
The first set of poles are already being used by the clock circuit, adding 330n across the 100n.
The second set of poles are to add another capacitor (let's say 33n) across the 10n between pins 10 and 9 of IC2. You should already know this capacitor, because it is connected to the resistor marked with the *. Admittedly it is a little small on the diagram. As for the value of the capacitor, we are adding 330n in parallel with 100n in the clock circuit. It would make sense to keep the same ratio, thus 33n would be added across 10n. Of course, you may prefer to experiment and pick your own value. That is a great way to learn.

To answer the "why can't there just be a diagram" comment, I give you the FAQ.
If you cannot read and understand a circuit diagram, then these circuits and projects are not for you. If you cannot readily identify components by looking at them, then these circuits and projects are not for you.

I'm not trying to be rude, but it's just one guy sharing his hobby. I simply cannot draw up every variation people want.
