Mixer capacitors

Mixer capacitors

2004-02-06 by peng3002

I noted on the most recent run of DC mixer pcbs the capacitor is 100n
instead of the 10uF shown in the schematic. Is there any advantage to
using a 0.1uF polyester in place of a 10uF electro ?
Also, I am making one mixer solely for audio signals. Is it
advisable to put a capacitor on the inputs, and if so, what size and
type would you suggest ?

Obviously just starting out,
P.

Those are for power rail decoupling. 100n is fine.

For audio use, use 10uF capacitors with the +ve facing the input jacks
