As an aside, the Bit doesn't always sound very special by itself, but like many great instruments, if you get it into the right place in a mix, it's a secret weapon. I think the oscillators are the main reason. That whine -- which I think is possibly aliasing of some sort, never worked it out for certain -- gives basslines a certain edge and grit.

what i noticed first, was this high pitched, somewhat metalic sound, audible on lower octaves, if the filter is open. anyone else noticed this? is this a characteristic of the bit, or could it be a faulty chip or something like that? thanks!
