Bit99 Sysex

Bit99 Sysex

2011-12-26 by keiowas75

Hi there!
Ive got a Bit99 that i want to control with my Bcr2000. So i can make new sounds in a easy way.
The problem is that i am very poor at sysex.
Is there anyone that got the "Strings" for all of the parameters in bit99?
I would really appreciate if someone could post them to me.
Best Regards
Christian.

Hi Christian.

I tried before you but I failed. The option is link BCR2000 CC to free software BitControl by a vst-host.

http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia/Audio/Audio-Plugins/BitControl.shtml

I charged the long string on bcr for some every knob. This string is a SYSEX and contains the WHOLE pacth, so you can change only 1 parameter.

Explanation:
Every time you turn the knob, for example attack, (encoder) you send an updated value for the attack PLUS all the others parameter as you store on the sysex string.

Then if you try to turn the sustain, you send an updated value for sustain value PLUS all the others parameter as you store on the sysex string => you reset the previous updated attack value.

However there is not a real realtime, you have a delay of 1 second or so to transmit every data change.

I have also an issue with memory corruption, I sugget to backup your bank before try.

Ciao
Enrico

Hey,

We should work together :)

I'm on a quest getting my BCR to work with a bit 01. I've tried several things including routing all the software editors to my BCR with the midi learn mode, but i'm struggling. Midiquest has a midi output viewer you can see what its trying to send but i haven't looked into it yet. Your 99 has a midi-out, is the midi learn not working for you?

Hey,

My problem with bitcontrol is its not working for me.. if i get this to work its enough for me. I'm using cubase artist 6 with windows 7 and tried everything, i see the midi going out but nothing happens when i make changes to the parameters with bitcontrol :(

I disabled sysex filtering in Cubase. i'm starting to believe its just not working with cubase 6 on windows 7 :(

Well problem is Bitcontrol is not working for me. I can see the midi going out but nothing happens.

I disabled sysex filtering in Cubase, checked all the settings (channels etc. etc.) but no luck :(

I'm beginning to think that Bitcontrol just wont work with Cubase artist 6 on windows 7. This is the reason i'm looking for alternatives. These software editors CAN control the Crumar so there must be a way to control it with the BCR using the proper sysex syntax i guess.

Hi,

The Crumar Bit99 (or Bit01) will never work with any Midi-controller-box
(like the BCR2000 or similar) or any Midi-fader-box or... or... etc.
The reason is the Bit99 (or Bit01) does not support real-time-SysEx-parameter-change-messages !
Every time after any parameter-change the whole patch-SysEx-dump must be calculated and then sent.
So, this is only possible with a software editor.
By the way, there's an old "free" Win98 editor "BitEdit 1.2.1" which works well (but no idea if it works in Win7).
