Glad to hear you got a performer. I own one too, when I bought mine, it
wasn't working and I had to repair it myself. They are great keyboards, so
is the orchestrator and the roadrunner. I do not gate mine. It really isn't
that noisy when you play it. The dynamics of the strings are a little
strange, I reccommend running it through an ART Levalar tube compressor to
even the signal out.

wanted one for quite a while, so I finally picked one up on eBay. You just
can't beat the price of these things. Excellent value for 100 bucks. The
actual unit is a little beat up, which is to be expected considering its
age, but it plays perfectly. And the strings are positively
luscious...yum. Very easy to get a great sound. I love the simplicity of
it. Now since this is possibly the noisiest synth ever known to man, I was
wondering if anyone is gating their Performer? Brian
