performer stuff

performer stuff

brian!
hello and welcome to the wonderful world of crumar owners. my
performer isn't noisy, it is sort of the opposite. it sends a really
clean, but very low signal. i don't use a gate (i might if i really knew
how), but i do use all sorts of fun stuff with mine. the multiple
outputs are really fun. i like to run the main out through a stereo
chorus and into my p.a. and then run the brass line through a distortion
pedalt and out to my amp. when you run the brass line, the main line
automatically transmits strings only. then the last bit is the signal
output. i like to run that on an additional line to my amp. i use this
weird, old sunn guitar/bass hybrid amp that has a low pass filter on it.
that way i can mess around with the basic signal sound and make it
something useful. as far as the gate jack, i don't know what to say. i
have no idea how to use it. i'm assuming it is some sort of cv control,
but i'm not sure how it works. i know that most standard cv uses a v/oct
pattern, but the only thing i have that uses cv is a yamaha cs20m and
that runs v/hz which wouldn't be compatible. then again, you could just
be talking about a noise gate. if that's all, then it's a very good
idea. i should run one in my chain before the distortion pedal. that is
the only time i can hear extra noise from mine. you might want to try
getting it cleaned. if there is an analog specialist in your area, they
should be able to do it for pretty cheap and it might end up taking away
any hiss. have fun with it. i know which one you're talking about, i
considered putting a bid in on it, but i decided not to because, when i
think about it, one performer is probably enough for me right now.
