I've been making printer profiles for the papers I usually use--Epson
HW Matte, H'muhle Matte Photo Paper, and now Ilford Galerie Smooth
glossy. All the others have given me very good results, buth this one
is a humdinger--nothing but trouble.

Start by using the Media Setting Check screen to make sure that the media setting you selected is indeed appropriate to the media you are profiling; don't do this verbally by setting names, check the actual quadrant prints from a range of media settings. Once you are sure you have a viable media setting, then reprint the target, taking extra care that the settings are all correct (which in this case mainly means turning off color management in the driver, but there are others that can effect this).

See if that target looks like the one that has been giving you muddy results. Then email me the XML file from your best attempt, OFF LIST, so that I can take a look at it.
