The type of DDC control I'm describing would be general to any DDC compliant monitor (meaning compliant for two way communication, one way communication doesn't help). Specific support of proprietary monitor internal tables is a seperate, and very fussy, thing.

I'm sure it will prove to be broadbased enough in the near future and
Colorvision is definitely in the position to take advantage of it.

Again, this type of global DDC support does not offer increased features for a monitor, only increased convenience, in that users don't have to fiddle with brightness, contrast, and RGB gain controls. Given that few monitors offer RGB gains these days, this largely comes down to automating the brightness and contrast settings. Handy, but not life-altering.
