This is a little hard to comprehend. Yes, matte papers can be very subdued compared to gloss papers, no, outside light sources are not part of the patch illumination. But if I am understanding you, a full color image prints though the profile as nearly black and white? And the target printed in full color? Something fishy in Denmark...
