Hmm ... other post got eaten by the posting software somewhere. I
believe it is not against the EULA for me to profile a target that you
print out. I'll ask the ColorVision folks here if thats okay since I'm
not a legal expert.

There's nothing in the license agreement to keep you from building custom profiles for individual printers privately; only profiles for use generically with entire model lines, and for mass distribution or bundling.

If its okay with them maybe you would like to print off the
redistributable target and mail it to me for comparison. That would
definately answer your question.

The trick there is to get the target printed properly... you need to turn off color correction in the driver, not convert the target on opening it, and use the appropriate media setting, as a simplified description. And then mail the printed target back to the person who is going to read it for you. He would email the profile back to you, to use from Photoshop, via Print with Preview, choosing the custom profile, and (again) turning off color adjustment in the driver, and using the same media setting as before. The PDI test image would be the appropriate thing to print to check out the profile's results. Still plenty that could go wrong, which is why using an unregistered copy of PrintFIX PRO in demo mode is the best way to determine settings, and print the target.
