Re: [colorvision_group] PrintFixPRO writing error

2006-12-31 by CDTobie@aol.com

In a message dated 12/31/06 9:09:49 AM, goch@... writes:

1) Yesterday I was reading some test targets with Printfix Pro
2.0/165. Twice I was told something like "Cannot write to disk" [or
file], after which I had to reload or restart reading the target.
This occurred when a DVD was being written in the background, but no
other tasks were occurring. It was as if PFP was too quick to
conclude that because it could not write to disk immediately, it
could not write to disk at all...

We have no reports of write errors caused by other intensive tasks, but I suppose its possible...

2) After I loaded one of the incompletely-read target files and
started reading where I had left off (in the middle of the third or
fourth line), PFP worked fine until the final reading at the bottom,
when it failed to give me the usual "ding ding"... as though it
determined that it was at the end not by position but by the total
number of readings taken. This is not a *problem*, I don't think,
but it is an oddity.

The double ding only occurs when you first read a target, not when you reread it, which is effectively what you are doing here...
