Sorry. Still am befuddled. I reset moniter to factory default values which are Contrast 65 and Brightness 100. I open software and get a Colorimeter reading of 163 as a baseline. I then use WP 6500 and Gamma 2.2 I select Measured Mode and set White Luminance at 125. I continue and it asks me to select the controls I have. I have a Samsung Synchmaster 214T which has Brightness and Contrast controls on the front menu. I only select and check the Contrast box. It now opens Set White Luminance Screen. It asks me to set the White Luminance. I assume I do not do this by looking at the 4 white boxes, but reopen the Colorimeter to get numerical value. ButÂ….before I touch any of the controls, I remeasure with the colorimeter and the value is now 218, not 163! This changed after I selected the contrast box. I don't know what happened or what to do now. I was planning on lowering the WL value from 163 to 125, but now it meaures 217 before I even touch it. I don't know where to set it for. I'm really confused. Can you help me understand this? I'm obviously making some errors here. Thanks.
