If the native whitepoint offers a white that is a reasonable match to
whatever you are matching, under whatever light you are matching it, then its fine,
and simplifies the process. If not, then 6500 is the most obvious choice,
though something a bit less blue, such as 5800, may be appropriate depending on
your conditions. 120 luminance is great if you are working under dim light,
with other desktop LCD displays also at 120 candelas... if you are using it under
uncontrolled lighting (in other words, as an actual portable, not a portable
forever in a dark studio), I'd run it brighter. And yes, no real reason to
vary from 2.2 on the gamma. The ambient light wizard in Spyder3Elite is the best
way to determine optimal settings for a given environment.
