I do print my own work, using an Epson 3800. EVERYTHING has improved with
the Spyder3. Of course, as I become more experienced (I've been shooting
Nikon for over 40 years), I'm improving too, so maybe it's just me!

Compared to what I spend on cameras, lenses, printers & supplies, the cost
of the Spyder is spare change. You won't regret the upgrade, imho.
