Datacolor User to User Support Group.

I am using a spyder2PRO 2.2-4 to calibrate a Dell 2407 WFP-HC monitor.  
I first set my monitor to it's default values.  At the start of the 
calibration process when I try and adjust the White Luminance to get a 
Colorimeter CIExyY value of about 120-130….do I adjust the monitor's 
Brightness or Contrast setting?  I know the White Luminance is 
controlled by contrast and not brightness.  But changes with either 
control with effect the colorimeter value.  Which should I use?  This 
is only the initial adjustment I realize, then I go through the 
calibration process.  Thanks.
