Trying again - I see that my question about this dated 11/17 did not make it to the group messages. Using Spyder3 Pro,I need a way to assure that LCD Brightness remains constant, as I re-profile my LCD monitor over the months and years. The monitor's native brightness is far too bright to give satisfactory photo displays or prints, and Spyder3 adjustments (eyeballing the gradations of the white squares while adjusting the monitor's brightness) won't bring it back into line. I've adjusted it to a satisfactory level by trial and error, and then have gone back to my Spyder 2 in order to get numerical values for the monitor's brightness. Using Spyder 2 to readjust the brightness each time I re-profile the monitor works fine, but of course it's cumbersome and a bit more time consuming. I just can't believe that Spyder3 doesn't allow for standardization of LCD monitor brightness. Previously I was told to "just create a 100 candela target". I don't know what a "100 candela target" is, how to create one, or how to use it. Can anyone point me toward instructions on this? Some of you must know how to standardize LCD brightness with the Spyder 3 Pro. It just isn't believeable that one has to move up to the Elite version in order to profile an LCD monitor. Thanks Bill Hansen
