When I disable the LUT feature, all is OK.

Not OK really; you don't have any check that the LUT data is correct, and hasn't been replaced by evil gremlins in the Operating System, or some other application or utility.
If the LUT is set to "never" the system runs fine. This is on an XP Pro SP3 system.
Runs fine, but lacks the safety feature. I have to ask what the concern over screensavers is, in the age when they don't save anything?

I found that that my
monitor would never shut down unless I disabled spyder utility upon
startup. Is this the same issue as the screen saver?
