What are the two jpg files that are delivered with your emails (titled img001 and img002)? They have been attached to your two most recent posts on this site, dated today 12/13/08. Possible infection??? I really do not know since I have not attached any files - jpg or otherwise to my posts. Moreover, so far they do not seem to appear in or with my posts when I receive them from Yahoo on my email reader as individual emails. I will see what happens when I get this post back from the list. I do not know what to tell you regarding the possibility of an infection. I would play it safe and not open them. By the way, thanks for clarify your references to a knowledgebase and readme files. Being involved with several forums and mailing lists on various web sites, references to such things without specifying the sources can get confusing - especially when the references are being used in discussions where several programs or hardware from multiple sources are being spoken of in the same discussion. I would offer to check with my contacts at Microsoft to verify what I understand; but it is the season when everyone is on vacation and will not be back until after the first of the year. My original understanding was similar to yours; but it has been pointed out to me by several people whose knowledge and expertise I respect and trust that this understanding is incorrect. The Windows operating system will allow for separate profiles for each of the monitors in a multiple monitor system if the video card supports multiple simultaneous LUTs; it will not support this if the card does not support separate independent LUTs and monitors, which may be the situation being described in the readme as well as in the knowledgebase. I would think that if the OS was the key limitation and source of the problem, you would not under Windows be able to use different profiles for monitors in a multi-display system where individual separate cards were installed for each monitor; but since you can use separate profiles for each of the monitors in such a system where they are attached to their own video cards, I suspect the problematic restriction is with the video card capabilities. As far as I know Windows, does not prevent one from employing separate profiles to the two monitors unless the video card does not support two LUTs.
