I've edited mine quite a bit -- moving the row and column labels much
closer to the swatches and cropping the white margins off to make more
room for the color swatches -- but then I've printed the target

No, you can't print the edited copy through Spyder3Print; the target printed by the application in an internal vector file, not the rasterized target from the Targets folder. Adjusted, edited, and customized target files are encouraged as needed, but must be printed through other means, with color management turned off in whatever workflow is used.
