Well, for starters we are more interested in a consistent, functional  
process for both Mac and Windows users, than Windows-specific or Mac- 
specific standards that aren't cross-platform. Beyond that, it is  
mostly small utilities that allow you to exit the application by  
clicking on the Red (X) button in the corner of the window. This would  
not be appropriate for multiple screen applications (where this would,  
at most, close that one window, as it does in certain windows in our  
applications).  You can't, for instance, quit Photoshop by clicking on  
such a button. We don't want you to lose an entire calibration process  
by accidently shutting the application down by clicking on the button.  
If, on the other hand, you are determined to quit, by means such as a  
specific "Quit/Exit" key combination, we assume thats what you want to  
do, and allow you to do it. For a reality check, Photoshop also allows  
you to quit with the standard Mac and Windows key combinations...

So I believe you will find our logic to be similar to other larger,  
cross-platform applications.
