Well, I suspect that until the calibration process is finished (including the "gray balance" phase of it), the final LUT load that will make sure the display actually displays gray for a gray input hasn't been finished and implanted, so the "gray" displayed may in fact not be gray - it's what the display at this point in its life (not yet calibrated) displays for a "gray" input.

The question is, after calibration is finished, does the display put up "gray" for a gray input?

Unfortunately, in the Pro version, we can't ask the calibrated system to put up what should be gray and see if it looks gray (and measures gray).
