No, if that's what the review implied, it's incorrect.

There are 2 click sounds that are made on each measurement;
one before the measurement starts, the other after it finishes.

(I'm using "before" and "after" quite literally here. The
measurement physically takes place between the two sounds)

As long as you don't start moving the spectro before you
hear the completion of the measurement sound pair, then it's
impossible for you to make a mistake by moving it "ahead"
too quickly.

With Spyder3Print 3.5 (and later) versions, the spectro
is also reprogrammed to measure more quickly, and there's
less of a "gap" between the starting, and ending, measurement
sounds. This is a very noticeable difference and it definitely
makes measuring faster and easier.
