No, the Spyder doesn't have to be connected for the nagware to run;  
but some people are determined to turn the Utility off, and that will  
certainly stop the nagware from functioning. It a much less common to  
see situations where people are willing to leave the Utility on, and  
don't get the nags. You'll probably need to create a support ticket at  
the Datacolor website to figure that one out.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
