I can't get the software to remind me when it is time to re calibrate. Is this normal for Win 7 on a 64bit machine.

It's not the calibration application that holds the "nagware", it's the Spyder3Utility. Is that running? When you open the Utility's menu, is your recal warning set to the value you want (as opposed to "never")? Is the Utility functioning in other ways, such as changing icon color for different ambient light levels, or outdated display calibration? If so, then it would seem to be the process of popping up the warning dialog box that is failing to happen. If not, then it's some other factor with having the Utility triggered at startup, or keeping your preferences, or some such. But no, this is not normal, or even common. C. D. It is running, set to remind me in one week. Does the calibration unit need to be plugged in all the time for the nagware to work ? I usually don't have it plugged in if I'm not running Photoshop or light room as I don't care about ambient light under normal conditions, and it eats up a usb port.

I usually don’t have it plugged in if I’m not running Photoshop or light room as I don’t care about ambient light under normal conditions, and it eats up a usb port. No, the Spyder doesn't have to be connected for the nagware to run; but some people are determined to turn the Utility off, and that will certainly stop the nagware from functioning. It a much less common to see situations where people are willing to leave the Utility on, and don't get the nags. You'll probably need to create a support ticket at the Datacolor website to figure that one out. C. D. Tobie Global Product Technology Mngr. Digital Imaging & Home Theater Datacolor.com CDTobie@...
