No idea why; only that this has been an issue with Canon drivers for OSX ever since Leopard
came out. The last time that there was a working "None" control in Canon drivers was for Tiger.

No, print them from your own computer; there can be differences in how the drivers print,
across platforms, so I wouldn't consider it "safe" to do it that way.
