Spyder 3 Elite fails to calibrate iMac

2013-02-17 by Steve Bell

This is my first post to the list re a problem relating to my Spyder 3 Elite.

I tried to calibrate a mid 2007 Apple 20" iMac still running 10.5.8 (needed to support proofing printers using Appletalk). I was using the Spyder 3 Elite 4.02 software. I have now seen there is an update to 4.07, but the reported fixes do not reference my problem. Also the older software was many years newer than a very common Apple iMac. Running Disk Warrior over the iMac does not indicate any system errors. When starting calibration it twice gives the following Spyder software errors.

Sorry, there was a problem looking up the name of the current display profile. (2)
CMSSupport.cpp 114
-43 (0xFFFFFFD5)

It then calibrates and fails to save the profile with this Spyder error message.

Anybody aware of a solution to this issue?
