Re: [datacolor_group] Spyder 3 Elite fails to calibrate iMac

2013-02-17 by Cdtobie

These exactly the type of issue Datacolor Support is designed to handle. Go to the Datacolor website to start a support ticket.

If you want to try some fixes first, here are a few. First install the latest software version. Resetting permissions on your machine would be a good idea, too. Sounds like it might be a permissions issue. You don't mention what OS you are running. There have been changes to where profiles are typically written, to avoid permission restrictions as they get tighter.

You can also try setting a different profile as your current display profile, to eliminate the first issue, if its caused by a corrupt profile, instead of one where permissions don't allow access. And make sure you are logged in as an Admin, that might sidestep the issue.

Best of luck troubleshooting your issue!

I have now seen there is an update to 4.07, but the reported fixes do not reference my problem. Also the older software was many years newer than a very common Apple iMac. Running Disk Warrior over the iMac does not indicate any system errors. When starting calibration it twice gives the following Spyder software errors.
