Observation

I have 2 Epson 1280 printers with one being used for color and the other for BW. The black ink in the color is dyebase and the BW is pigment ink. I had a problem with the color images developing a greenish cast and I thought I had found the solution, but the problem cropped up again. I used PrintFixPro to redo the paper/ink/printer profile with no satisfactory solution as the result. Just out of the blue I decided to put the pigment black cartridge into the color printer, and lo and behold it made a difference. I use Eboni pigment ink from MIS for my BW printing, and I guess also now for the color work. Does anyone have any experience over a long period of time with the combination of pigment and dyebase inks creating a problem for the waste pads and printer? I'm still very new (green) at using color after working BW for almost 40 years but am getting excited over color when the image benefits from it. I now print less BW and I suppose that printer will need some tender loving care to get it functioning properly again. Your friend in Photography, Johnny PS. I suppose I'll need to create a paper/ink/printer profile for the pigment/dyebased now to get more accurate color.
