Vista Defender blocks the LUT loader

Vista Defender blocks the LUT loader

2007-02-13 by sergecashman

I can't figure out how to run a Colorvision LUT loader (or any other
LUT loader for that matter) on Vista startup. It gets blocked by
Defender. I get a little popup informing me of that. I can later run
it manually.

I tried to run it as administrator, too. No luck. It doesn't give me
an option to permanantly unblock it.

Thanks in advance,
Serge.

We don't have reports of not being able to load LUTs from other Vista
testers, or our inhouse testing... I can't figure why it would fail on
your system... personally I find "Defender" to be so annoying that
turning it off would be the only solution I could imagine!

Well, CHROMiX President Steve Upton seems to have noticed some major
issues with LUT loaders, so it's not just me:
"Due to Vista's non-handling and mishandling of graphics card
calibration curves it is next to impossible for a professional user to
be confident that their system is properly calibrated and displaying
color correctly."
