Using the spectro to measure grey card

Using the spectro to measure grey card

2008-05-16 by Randall Smith

I hope this question has not been previously addressed. Is there a way
to use the spectrocolorimeter to measure the neutrality of a grey card?
Thanks, Randall Smith

Can't you go into measure mode (control M) and just click on it with
the colorimeter?

It won't tell you if there are color shifts under different light
sources but it should tell you something about the material's neutrality.

You can measure its neutrality as a D50 object, and get L*a*b* values from it. That will tell you how netural it is at D50, but won't give you specific information about consistancy under differing lighting conditions.
