Thanks again for your help. Another forum member has suggested that
I can measure candelas as I set up the Spyder2Pro. Of course I know
how to modify the Brightness of the monitor, but I haven't seen a
way to measure candelas as I do that. Is there one? Is there another
tool I should know about?
The "secret" is to know that the capital "Y" in "XYZ" or "xyY" is luminance in Candela's per meter squared. So if you use the colorimeter window and measure white, or look at info from a profile, you'll see Cap Y values that tell you your luminance. But more to the point, if you choose measured mode, and define a target white luminance in Can/M2, the software will allow to to adjust to that target value as you calibrate.
