is it?

ColorVision Startup is an older utility from the Spyder2 generation. At that time we did a lot less in terms of continuous checking of profiles and video corrections, certification etc... but we still needed a Startup on Windows to load the LUTs since Windows does not do that automatically. On the Mac, that is done at the OS level, so about the only function the Startup is needed for is to remind you when recalibration is needed. So it is possible on the Mac, but not under Windows, to remove this utility without trashing your color management. If it is bouncing up and down a lot, you may have other issues. With Spyder3 the Utility is runs as a full time background utility and does a whole raft of things, so is much more central to keeping things in order, and should NOT be removed!
