Spyder3 counterweight?

Spyder3 counterweight?

2008-11-08 by Jim Miller

I'm just getting my Spyder3 Studio running. Is the blob on the end of
the Spyder3 a ferrite noise reducer or is it the "counterweight?"

If it's the counterweight do I just slip it along the cable into a
useful position or does it remove and then snap on elsewhere?

tnx

It's just a counterweight; you can slip or move it anywhere that
works best for you...:-)

It is definately a counterweight. It really doesn't snap in anywhere, but you merely press the center of the counterweight (at least on my 2 version of it) and drape it over the back of the monitor in the case of an lcd or the top I suppose of a crt.

Make sure you position the calibration unit as squarely as possible over the target Colorvision provides.

I generally calibrate my monitor around 4 in the morning with all ambient lights out. Makes for a bit of a go trying to find the menu on the lcd to adjust but it seems to work better for me.

My understanding is the Spyder 3 is better at handling ambient light than mine.
