Can someone help?

Can someone help?

2009-02-12 by m.ayre@ymail.com

I dont know where to start.

I have a syder 3 elite software version 3.0.7

two NEC 2070NX monitors

Nvidia 8800GS graphics card

and have installed the MS Color settings applett

Whats the best settings to use in the spyder software

How can I make sure that my monitor 1 (main) boots up with the
assigned profile.

How can I make sure that my monitor 2 boots up with the assigned
profile.

Is there a way of turning them on and off

Thanks for any help

If your videocard is up to the task, and Windows doesn't throw any
fits, then simply profiling both displays (Ideally using the
StudioMatch Wizard from the menu options) will correct them both to
the same standard, and they'll both be fine. Its only if your card is
not up to it, or your OS has problems executing the requested
commands, that issues arise. So start by assuming the best, not the
worst, and give it a spin.

First reboot... then cry wolf... <G>

The profile being attached is seldom a problem; if it gets assigned
successfully in the first place, it should remain assigned (typically
it's weird stuff in the Windows directory that causes the Windows call
for assigning a display profile to fail; if it succeeds, it should be
fine indefinately). But being sure your video LUT data is flashed is
perhaps a bit more of a concern. Watch to see that a visible flash
occurs after startup. Then you can launch Spyder3Pro or Elite, use the
menu shortcut to go to SpyderProof, turn the video corrections on and
off, and view the test images, to see that the grays are neutral,
etc... when they are on.
