Importing multiple curve sets? Updating to the 3.5 Beta?

Importing multiple curve sets? Updating to the 3.5 Beta?

2009-07-13 by robert49brake

Using Spyder3Print 3.0.1 I find that the Import Curves function limits me to one curve set. Is there a way around this? Specifically I would like to import one global rgb curve for linearity and another rgb set for tonality. At the import curve function choosing a second curve erases the first.

On another note I'm trying to upgrade to Spyder3Print 3.5 beta. I copied xml measurement files from the 3.0.1 app and pasted them into the Print folder in 3.5 beta but they are not accessible. I'm hoping I don't have to re-read all of my targets. I'm trying to get past stage one to see if the beta allows multiple curve imports. Thanks

Put your R, G, & B specific corrections into the channel specific
curves of the same curve set that contains your global corrections
before exporting; S3Print will only accept one curve set.

This should happen automatically, I believe. Without knowing your OS
its impossible to give specific directions, but the location where
your xml files is stored may not be where you think it is, as newer
builds (for security purposes, as the OS developers request) the files
are put into a subfolder in your user data, not into a global
location. Even though a master folder still exists at that global
location, user data is not written to it.

I'm using OS X 10.5.7

You're putting them in the wrong place. Starting with the 3.5 software,
the "working" copy of the measurement .xml files is moved into a
different
folder, which is buried several levels deep in your Home folder.

The easy way to find the "right" location to put the measurement files
is to use the File:Open Data command in Spyder3Print. It will then open
a window to the working folder for measurement files; just copy them in
there, and they'll show up in the application.

Then the specific route is:

Users > You > Library > Preferences > Datacolor > Spyder3Print > Data

But its a lot easier to access it directly from the menu items in the
Print applications... Spyder3Print > File > Open Data
