Windows isn't color managed, so it's using the calibration but not the profile. So it would appear to be the profile that is causing the orange cast. Orange is the opposite of blue, so I'm guessing your blue primary value is low. See if the profile graph on the last screen shows red and greed close to sRGab, but blue way inside of sRGB.

Photoshop, like SpyderProof, and unlike Windows, is color managed, so that's consistent. "Photoshop is unhappy" is not a very technical description. Are you implying that there is an error message? If so, what exactly is the message?

Some Windows laptops can't deal with two profiles, so things can get tricky when trying to profile a projector.

See last note above. You may have to use one, not two, profiles, to get an older Win laptop to use a profile for your projector.

Yes, while that may not seem very satisfying, it's correct. I recommend you run a Full Calibration on the projector, and then try setting that as both your laptop and your projector profile.
