Unable to save updated profile
2012-12-03 by Rollin H
This is jsut an FYI post. Last week when I tried to update my monitor profiles using Spyder4 Elite under Windows 7 (64 bit) I got the message that the save failed when I attempted to save the updated profile. I searched the web and found several hits indicating that I needed to be running on an account with administrative authority. Since I was, I opened a ticket to support and they gave me a suggested bypass. It, however, also did not clear the condition. I found a simple way around the problem if anyone else hits it. I simply changed the name of the profile before doing the save. Once it was saved, I went to the directory where the profiles are stored and deleted the old profile. It was locked requiring admin authority to delete but my id is an administrator and I was able to delete it. If it happens the next time I refresh the profile, I will simply rename, delete, etc. This is the first time this has happened and I have no idea what program decided to lock the profiles but who knows what evil lurks in the minds of programmers! (And yes, I am a programmer - grin)
