I’m not aware of any issues with Spyder4Express software freezing. The last software update we
did on it, in February 2016 (version 4.5.9) is the latest, so it’s been out for more than a year.

This sounds like a system issue (not related to the Spyder4Express software or hardware). Please open
a support ticket with Datacolor support and they can work with you on it.
