I am using Spyder 3 Print with Windows XP. The program suggests that I update to version 5.0.2. Would this version work with XP please, or should I stay with my current version 4.2.2

You should not be using Windows XP.
It's a security disaster.

Not very useful advice and essentially pointless as it doesn't answer the user M Cook's question.

M Cook...I'd suggest checking the tech specs for version 5.0.2 at datacolor's website to see if it works under WinXP...

On the contrary -- upgrading from Windows XP is the best way to solve the OP problem, in part because it kills another important bird with the same stone. And had you actually bothered to check the software, you would have known that Windows XP is not supported.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
