Print Preview and Rendering Intent

Print Preview and Rendering Intent

2006-04-13 by hanson102

i tried adjust the colors, brightness and contrast, etc. how come the
test image has the same look even if a adjust settings to the extreme?
it seems that the adjustments i do doesn't have any effect.

what is rendering intent? i tried accessing the help menu and it
doesn't say much about rendering intent -

- saturation
- perceptual
- relative colorimetric
- absolute colorimetric

i don't notice any difference in the test image each time i change the
rendering intent menu as well.

thanks!

regards,
david

Correct, the test image on screen is FPO (For Placement Only), its the print you make from it that shows the results of your profile. We will color manage the screen preview in a later version, but initially, it was far more important to color manage the print than the screen, as its the definitive result.

You may have missed it. There is a whole help section accessible from the help index named "Color Gamuts and Rendering Intents" that covers this in detail.
