Hello,
I have a C2MarkIV and was hoping to participate in the Elton John event. Signed up online and got the remote live USB key good to go. One last step: make sure the software is up to date.
At first the PRC-100 Updater said I was current at 4.0.0. But the DKV needed an update, so I connected and it installed v4.02build 1 (20120906). After doing that and restarting, the PRC Updater reported that there was a v4.01. So I updated that, too.
Starting both the DKV and PRC from scratch, the PRC connects to the DKV okay but when the interface s/w starts it tells me the "PRC software is not compatible with the piano", and tells me to run the I/F Updater. But I'm already on PRC 4.01 so that ain't right.
I got a single call into Yamaha support before closing time and that yielded the suggestion that I hard-reset the PRC back to the 3.0 system loaded from an SD card. That worked fine, and I could connect to the DKV, but get the same incompatibility error when I run the interface, both at v3.0 and when it "successfully" updates to 4.01.
I was thinking I should also try to downgrade the DKV to the 400update.iso but I don't have my original CD and boot floppy from when I installed 4.0 a couple of years ago. I can burn a new CD but cannot make a boot floppy since the PRC Setup menu is inaccessible.
Any suggestions? Elton John starts in an hour!
Thanks in advance,
John
