Just my two cents having been a piano owner for over 35 years and a Yamaha Disklavier owner for over 3. Tongue in cheek ;-) I'm guessing that either one or more of the following are involved in this story: 1. The reporter did an absolutely lousy job or researching her subject. 2. The CEO of Steinway is an imbecile for not knowing what his competition has been doing for years now. Not just Yamaha (that "Asian Piano Maker") but Bosendorfer (CEUS models). He needs to be dismissed as soon at the board can arrange time off from golf to meet. 3. Yamaha is about to purchase Steinway and this is a very cynical tactic to introduce the "New Steinway" models of Internet ready-player pianos LOL 4. Yamaha is so complacent in their marketing department that they not only didn't see this coming, but haven't put much effort in their marketing or awareness campaigns to make sure the WORLD knows about the amazing things the Disklavier can do. Acoustic piano entertainment media-center? Mine is. Get with it Yamaha and go boldly the piano is not dead! People are ready to purchase in North America if you do a better job of making the value known(including realistic pricing-NOT MSRP). As for this story, thanks so much for linking us to it.
